This unit could be used in science or geography classes.
Unit project:
Students will create a visual to represent their research on potential tipping points in their own community or region. Create a physical or digital poster or a physical model, using drawings, charts, graphs, animations, models, or other. They should research and identify one tipping point that could affect the region where you live or come from, research what the impacts of crossing that tipping point would mean for their region, and for their local community, and how close we are from crossing it, before creating a visual individually or in groups to represent their findings.
Time frame:
We recommend spending two or three classes on this unit. The first one to two classes should be focused on the text, allowing students to discuss and comprehend sections. The second to third class should be focused on research and the project.
